Kathmandu. The International Day of Human Space Flight is being celebrated across the globe today with fanfare and fanfare.
On April 7, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming April 12 as International Human Space Flight Day.

On April 12, 1961, Soviet citizen Yuri Gagarin completed the first space flight. He is believed to have started a new era of space exploration when he became the first human to orbit the earth.
On October 4, 1957, the first man-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched into space. This paved the way for space exploration. In the decades since, remarkable achievements have been made in human space travel.
On June 16, 1963, Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to walk in space, and on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the lunar surface. On July 17, 1975, the Apollo and Soyuz spacecraft joined the first planned international human space mission.
KATHMANDU: The United Nations has said that space exploration and its application is the common property of mankind and its benefits should be shared to all countries.
