Kathmandu. If the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) does not provide voting rights, 18 associations will launch phase-wise agitation. A total of 18 associations have filed an application at the FNJ seeking the implementation of the High Court’s order and granting membership.

On April 1, all the associations have filed a petition stating that they should be given voting rights as per the court order and if they are not given the right to vote, they will launch a phase-wise agitation.

The FNJ has drawn the attention of the FNJ to the order issued on April 9 in the prohibitory order writ (Writ No. 080-WO-1620) pending in the Patan High Court regarding the membership dispute.

“It is well known that an interim order has been issued in the name of the defendants not to hold the AGM until the decision is made in accordance with Rule 42 of the High Court Regulations÷, 2073 BS, arguing that the general meeting would cause irreparable loss to the petitioners without taking a decision as per the mandamus order issued on December 31. It is very regrettable that the date of the general meeting has been re-scheduled as the decision of the office-bearers meeting of the FNJ without granting membership as per the order of the court, at a time when all election-related activities have been postponed following the order of the honorable court. “We are of the clear conclusion that any activity related to the General Assembly without implementing the orders issued by the honorable court is contempt of court and is completely illegal,” reads the petition filed at the FNJ.

They have strongly demanded that the process related to the AGM be forwarded only after taking the membership decision as per the FNCCI’s decision on March 9, 2081 in full compliance with the spirit of the mandamus order dated January 1 and the interim order of April 10, 2081.
