Home Minister meets South Korean envoy

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung and Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae Yong held a meeting today.

The discussions were held on Nepal-Korea relations, continued support the Korean government has been providing for Nepal’s socio-economic development and further consolidating and expanding bilateral cooperation in the days ahead.

On the occasion, Minister Gurung appreciated Korean government’s positive policy regarding health, safety and repatriation of Nepalis going to South Korea for education and employment. He requested for more cooperation in the coming days.

The ambassador said that Nepalis are disciplined and hardworking and have been contributing to economic, social and educational sectors by assimilating easily into the Korean society. On the occasion, Minister Gurung thanked the Korean government for its support in developing the cyber bureau with physical infrastructure and resources.

He also proposed for collaboration between the two governments to manage security equipment and equipment required to make Nepal Police well-equipped for crowd control and security of the general public.

He also said that the Nepal government was committed to providing security to the businesses and investors operated with Korean investment in Nepal. He underscored the need of partnership between the two countries for the promotion of Buddhist culture and to publicize the Lumbini area in the international arena.
