Kathmandu. Discussion was held among the representatives of the ministries and bodies concerned regarding the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project.
In the meeting, Chief Executive Officer of Budhigandaki Hydropower Company Limited, Arun Rajauria, made a presentation on the current status and needs of the project.
After the discussions, Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal said necessary laws would be formulated and amended to speed up the construction of the project.
“There is no alternative to not completing the project. Either the government should explain the reason for not completing the project, otherwise there should not be a day’s delay in the implementation of the project,” he said.
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle, Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal, Home Minister Sudan Gurung and lawmakers Kabindra Burlakoti, Bodh Narayan Shrestha, Ashika Tamang, Shova Khanal and Anjila Gurung were present in the meeting.
Similarly, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr Gunakar Bhatta, Chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Ram Prasad Dhital and Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Hitendra Dev Shakya were also present on the occasion.
