Jhapa. Renewable energy pellet production has started at Jyamirgadhi of Mechinagar municipality-15 by utilizing the wasted local resources.
Pellet energy is considered to be a source of fuel with minimal impact on the environment and is considered as an alternative to coal, wood and other mineral fuels.
Parajuli Biomass Briquette Industry has started production of ‘pellet energy’. The mill has the capacity to produce 70,000 kilograms of pellet energy in 12 hours, according to industry proprietor Aditya Parajuli.
Parajuli said that the use of pellet energy as cheap and environment-friendly fuel is increasing in the industries including tea, cement, brick, iron, etc., and the waste of lotus veneer sheet, sugarcane husk, dried leaves, bamboo bamboo and pieces of wood will be processed in the machine to produce granular energy.
Bhadrapur municipality mayor Ganesh Pokharel said pellets would replace import of coal and help make the country self-reliant on petroleum products.
