Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) and Al Jazeera quoted five people, including a journalist, in the latest Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.
According to reports, an Israeli attack on a vehicle initially targeted a vehicle in the village of At-Tiri in southern Lebanon, killing two people inside the vehicle.
The Israeli military said it had targeted two vehicles in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera, citing Lebanon’s national news agency, reported that a journalist was killed shortly after being wounded in an airstrike on a building in the village of At-Tiri.
Lebanon’s Information and Communications Minister Paul Morcus condemned the Israeli attack on journalists.
On social media, Morkus said Israel was responsible, reaffirming the urgent need to ensure the safety of journalists and guarantee freedom of work.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its army and air force had attacked southern Lebanon after Hezbollah claimed it had violated the ceasefire.
The IDF said in a statement that the incident took place in the Saluki area of southern Lebanon, where the IDF said it had identified a possible threat.
The military said it had responded with airstrikes to control the situation and was continuing operations in the area, including efforts to target infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah.
