Kathmandu. The campaign to remove the encroached houses at Gairigaun area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9 has been resumed.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has resumed the demolition work from today as the demolition work which was carried out till late Saturday night was not completed. Chief of Metropolitan Police Force, Bishnu Joshi, said that the demolition of structures has started since noon as many structures are still to be removed.

“We demolished some big houses on Saturday and late last Sunday night, but there were still a lot of structures left,” he said. Now we are continuing to work again. ”

According to the Metropolitan Police Police, the demolition has become challenging as dozens of big permanent houses have been constructed in the Gairigaun area. At present, two big dozers and heavy machines are being used to demolish the structure.
