Kathmandu. A meeting of the Central Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress has taken action against Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kanchharam), the district president of Ramechhap. A meeting of the NC held today decided to suspend Tamang from serving as the president of Ramechhap district.
According to the decision dated April 19, Tamang had accepted that he had made a misleading and unsubstantiated statement against the party leadership with an intention to clarify on the charge of breach of discipline.
The party has decided to suspend Tamang from the post of Ramechhap district president from today until the decision is taken on the charge of violating discipline as per the Article 34 (8) (e) of the NC Statute-2017 (with amendment) and Rule 28 (3) of the Regulation, 2076 as the investigation would affect the investigation.
A meeting of the committee convened by the committee’s coordinator Taraman Gurung on April 15 decided to put the decision on this issue on hold as per the decision of the NC Central Discipline Committee on April 15 seeking clarification on former acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka.
