Issues included in the ‘promissory note’ are reflected in the budget, lawmakers need not run to the ministry to ask for projects: Finance Minister Dr Wagle

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has said the budget for the coming fiscal year would be prepared as per the promise presented by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the run-up to the elections.

Talking to RSP lawmakers at Singha Durbar today regarding the budget for the coming fiscal year, he said, “The budget will reflect what was written in the promissory note.” The budget is balanced and in line with the expectations of the people. ”

On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Wagle apprised the lawmakers about the size of the budget, mobilization of expenditures, resource management and challenges, existing budget system, status of loans and grants and regular liabilities of the state.

Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP) lawmaker Rajiv Khatri said that the meeting was held with Finance Minister Wagle and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal regarding the upcoming budget. On the occasion, the Finance Minister assured that the situation of lawmakers having to run to the ministry for budget and projects would end.

“The practice of allocating budget to small projects will end and the budget will come to an end. Lawmakers don’t have to run around for budget and projects,” Khatri quoted Finance Minister Wagle as saying.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Wagle said that he was preparing to make a result-oriented budget by ending the past anomalies.
