Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. KATHMANDU: Swarnim Wagle has said that the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will be restructured.

He said that the study committee has been formed and the report given by the committee will be implemented. He said this at a meeting of the Finance Committee today. Minister Wagle said that the issue of restructuring of NEPSE has been discussed for a long time but it has not been implemented.

On the occasion, Minister Wagle said that many topics have been included in the government’s policy and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year for capital market reform and these issues would be taken a big shape from the budget to be presented by the government. Minister Wagle said that there was a tendency to earn huge wealth through insider trading in the share market, to keep some influential leaders in the pocket after amassing huge wealth.

“Such institutions have been captured by those who make a lot of money,” said Minister Wagle, “We should thank the Genji movement.” Otherwise, we would have been in trouble because of such people. He said that the goal is to expel the old leadership of such organizations and now invite those who have a good image in the country or abroad to do good work.
