Kathmandu. The policies and programmes unveiled by the government through the parliament for the coming fiscal year have encouraged the private sector. Although the policies and programs seem to be effective, they are in a wait-and-see situation to see how the policies and programs will be implemented.
Chiranjivi Subedi, president of the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said he found the policies and programmes in favour of industrialists. Stating that although every government brings good policies and programs, the private sector gets affected due to problems in their implementation, he said it was necessary to see how it would move towards the implementation phase. According to him, the private sector has been encouraged to go in favour of the implementation of the policies and programmes brought by the government.
Chitwan Industry Association Chair Madan Ghimire said the government’s policies and programmes were positive. Although it looks positive now, it depends on how the budget covers these programs, he said. He said that it would be more encouraging if the government could work with a plan for the implementation of policies and programmes. He said that the government has encouraged the private sector from keeping electricity reserve to one-door system. He said, “The government’s program seems effective, but it is how it will be implemented. ”
Gopal Bhattarai, president of Chitwan Chamber of Commerce, said that it depends on how the government moves ahead in favour of the implementation of policies and programmes. According to him, although the private sector has been given priority in the current program, it is not possible to make a leap if there is a challenge in its implementation.
Gunaraj Thapaliya, vice-president of the Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, said that the policies and programmes will provide some relief to the private sector even if it is not as much as expected. He said, “Terming the year 2085 as the Visit Year has raised some hope for the tourism entrepreneurs.” He said although some improvement is seen in the policies and programs, it remains to be seen how the government will perform in favour of its implementation.
Nepal Layers Poultry Owners Association central president Binod Pokharel said the government has brought policies and programmes to encourage the private sector to increase investment. “The issues left out during the budget should be addressed in a way that it is investment-friendly,” he said. Stating that the works carried out by the government have become people-friendly with the formation of the new government, he urged the government to create environment conducive for investment.
