Kathmandu. The Office of the Auditor General has made recommendations for building a sustainable and self-reliant economy.
Necessary policy and structural reforms should be adopted to achieve sustainable economic growth through domestic production, employment generation and development of skilled human resources.
According to the 63rd annual report of the office, it has suggested strengthening preparedness and risk management system to minimize the possible pressure on the economic and financial sectors in view of the global economic instability, natural disasters and external risks.
Likewise, it has been suggested that the scope of the formal economy should be widened by expanding the ‘digital’ payment system by gradually minimizing cash-based economic activities.
Similarly, the Office of the Auditor General has suggested the government to promote infrastructure development, improve the quality of service, identify and diversify tourism destinations and encourage private investment to increase foreign investment and currency earnings from the tourism sector.
