Kathmandu. Addressing the shortage of skilled manpower in Nepal’s IT sector, Techpaila Innovations has announced a strategic partnership with the world-renowned NCC Education UK.
Through this partnership, Nepali students of grade 11 and 12 can offer international courses on cybersecurity, AI and data science in their own school.
In the special product launching program, Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Associate Director of Techpaila Innovations and Technology Expert delivered his keynote address on the topic ‘Education and Global Competition based on foundations of Digital Nepal’. He claimed that this campaign would be a milestone in Nepal’s technology map.
During the address, the technical expert said that although Nepal’s IT sector is growing by 20-25 percent annually, 70 percent of the companies do not have certified manpower.
“Our students enjoy the digital world, but not even 5% have formal cybersecurity knowledge. Bridging this ‘skills gap’ is no longer our choice, it is a national compulsion. Cybersecurity, AI and data science are no longer electives, they are essential survival skills of the 21st century,” the official said.
Techpaila has launched three courses accredited in more than 50 countries. These include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data science.
Techpaila has introduced ‘Zero Setup Cost’ model for schools and colleges without any additional financial burden. Under this, the company will provide certified trainers and a state-of-the-art learning management system. Therefore, no Nepali student should be deprived of modern technological education due to lack of budget or infrastructure.
These certificates will pave the way for higher education abroad (admission to more than 70 universities in the UK, US and Australia and credit mileage).
Former President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajendra Malla said that the government should also give priority to IT and AI education. Chairman Malla shared that the IT and AI services business of Nepal has doubled in the past three years. He said that the sector was worth Rs 70 billion in 2023 and now it has reached Rs 140 billion.
“This sector is a sector that can earn faster than Nepal’s hydropower,” Malla said, adding, “This education will stop the situation of the youths in our country not being allowed to go abroad on foot and selling their labour at a cheaper price.” He urged the government to take this education not only to the urban areas but also to the rural areas.
Nepal Telecom’s Manager Shaligram Parajuli Shaligram Parajuli said the state should take policy, infrastructure and human resource development in parallel. With employment, good governance and prosperity being the main demands of the new generation, all these goals can be addressed quickly through IT and AI tools.
Mr. Ram Hari Silwal, General Secretary of HISSAN appreciated, “Skilling, Resskilling, Upskilling” mega campaign of Techpaila Innovations and the collaboration with HISSAN and said that this will be a milestone to transform youths into creators and not just consumers of technology.
Digi Group President Bigyan Shrestha stated that TechPaila Innovations had laid a crucial foundation to put Nepal’s technology on the global map by developing world-class IT services and products.
