Kathmandu. Kathmandu Medical College Public Limited (KMC) has decided to give up to 50 per cent discount to the members of the Society of Cooperative Journalists (CJN) and their family members in health treatment.
According to the agreement reached between KMC and CJN on Wednesday (May 20), journalists associated with the society and their families will get special discount in various health services while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
As per the agreement, the hospital will provide up to 25 per cent discount on service charges for CJN members and their family members visiting the hospital for treatment. However, the hospital will give a discount of up to 50 percent till July 30, 2083.
KMC, which has been collaborating with various organizations under its social responsibility, has said that it will provide services to the CJN members on a priority basis. As per the agreement, the hospital will provide 25 per cent discount on general bed and 10 per cent discount on cabin service.
The company has also offered discount of up to 25 per cent in ICU, HDU, CCU and OT service charges, lab tests, CT scan and MRI, X-ray, USG, dental X-ray, ECG, endoscopy, colonoscopy, diagnostic tests and physiotherapy, among others.
The hospital is also offering 25 percent discount on scaling, RCT, filling and prosthesis services under dental treatment. Similarly, 25 percent discount has been provided on ERCP, MRCP, angiogram, angioplasty and neuro intervention services.
However, there will be no exemption on cath lab equipment, stents, guide wire, balloon and other consumables and implant services.
As per the agreement, the patient will have to submit his/her identity card, citizenship certificate or other required documents to the hospital to avail the service. In case of children below 16 years of age, it is mandatory to bring a copy of the birth certificate.
The hospital will provide additional facilities as per the agreement only after the government has fully utilized the health services such as health insurance, social security, indigent citizens, senior citizens, medical treatment fund and others.
Similarly, the hospital has managed a separate counter for the convenience of the employees and patients associated with the social security fund and health insurance. The concerned card has been made mandatory for the employees associated with the social security fund and health insurance.
The agreement was signed by KMC Administrative Manager Archana Thapa and Public Relations Chief Sudha Kattel and CJN President Arjun Khatiwada and Secretary Madhav Kumar Khadka.
