Rs 1029 billion in savings mobilised, Rs 905 billion in loans disbursed in co-operative sector

Kathmandu. In the cooperatives, Rs 1029.57 billion has been mobilized and Rs 905.48 billion has been disbursed. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wag said this while presenting the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2082/83 in both houses of the Federal Parliament today.

According to him, the number of cooperatives has reached 32,32 TAG_OPEN_div_22 5 as of mid-March. During this period, the number of members was 101,60,963 and the share capital was Rs.143.29 billion.

As of mid-March, there are 82,TAG_OPEN_div_20 216 direct jobs in the cooperative sector. As of mid-July 2081, 18,897 cooperatives were affiliated to COPOMIS, which was developed for integrated data on cooperatives, which increased to 19,903 by mid-March 2082.

The National Cooperative Regulatory Authority (NCRA) has granted operating licenses to 834 cooperatives regulating the cooperative sector in Nepal.TAG_OPEN_div_18   The Registration Documentation Standard, 2082 and Regulatory Standard, 2082 (First Amendment) have been issued.

Out of 23 cooperatives declared problematic by the office of the 64 problematic cooperative management committees, three have been cleared. The remaining 20 problematic institutions are yet to manage their assets and pay their liabilities.

So far, a total of 80,087 claims of Rs 47.60 billion have been registered in various phases and a total of Rs TAG_OPEN_div_14 2.54 billion has been paid to 3,688 claimants so far.

} Also, Rs 12.23 crore has been refunded to 8,763 claimants till mid-March of the current fiscal year.
