Kathmandu. The government has made a special provision to waive the interest and fees of income tax.

The government has made this provision through the budget for the next fiscal year. With this, if any person has not filed income tax after earning taxable income without taking a permanent account number in the past, such a person has submitted the income statement for the fiscal year 2079/080 to 2082/083 by the end of Poush 2083 with a permanent account number.

The income statement of the previous income years and the taxes, fees and interest levied on the same will not be required to be submitted.

If the taxpayer who has been in the tax net in the past with a permanent account number but has not earned any income or transaction has not filed the income statement of the financial year 2081/082 or earlier, such a person wants to cancel the registration or become active by conducting the transaction, if such a person wants to cancel the registration or to resume the transaction by filing the income statement of the financial year 2082/083 and the tax as per the same. There is no need to submit.

If the application is not submitted within the stipulated time, the registration will be automatically cancelled from the system. If such a person wishes to be reactivated or reactivated later, such a person will have to submit the income statement up to that period and the tax, fees and interest accordingly.

According to the Income Tax Act, 2058 BS, if a person who has earned income by obtaining a permanent account number and is yet to submit tax and statement will submit such tax and additional amount of one percent of that tax and income statement by mid-January, 2083 BS, the fee and interest incurred on such tax and interest will be waived.
