Kathmandu. The government has taken stern action against big industrialists who have been using government land, buildings and infrastructure worth millions of rupees for a long time and have not paid rent and tariffs.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has said that the government will take stern action if the government does not clear its dues within seven days.
The incumbent Industry Minister Yadav has taken stern steps to end the politics of ‘bargain and molahija’ as the erstwhile governments were protecting big industrialists by making various pretexts and setting them, according to his secretariat.
How much money is owed to which industry?
According to a notice released by the Industrial Area Management Limited on Monday, Nepal’s well-known multinational companies and big business houses operating within the Balaju Industrial Area are in the list of defaulting companies. The following are the details of major industries that have not paid government dues worth millions of rupees.

‘silent protection’ end
It is understood that previous governments have adopted the policy of giving millions of discounts to these big houses on the pretext of industrial promotion and economic slowdown. Yadav, however, made it clear that he would not compromise on the revenue and rent that should come to the state coffers.
Minister Yadav says, “This time, we will not leave the letter just like in the past.” Within seven days, the line of the industries that do not appear with the bank voucher will be cut, the industrial premises will be sealed, and if they do not comply, a warrant will be issued directly against the operators and the process of recovering the property of the state will be initiated. ”
The notice states that the industries are facing a serious financial crisis to construct new infrastructures, repair old structures and provide services to small industries as they have not paid land rent, building rent, electricity and water tariffs regularly.
