Kathmandu. The Federation of Gas Dealers Nepal has welcomed the directive of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to compulsorily issue VAT bill while selling and distributing LP gas. The Federation has urged the gas entrepreneurs to fully comply with the directive of the corporation and to compulsorily charge the bill while purchasing the gas.
Issuing a press release on Wednesday, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has welcomed the move and expressed the belief that the NOC would play an important role in making the LPG business more systematic, transparent and safe.
The NOC’s LP Gas and Aviation Department on November 9 had sent a letter to all the LPG industries directing them to make arrangements to compulsorily provide invoices to consumers through dealers.
The corporation had said that there were increasing complaints that gas sellers were not issuing bills to consumers after the sale. The federation has also been presenting various suggestions to the corporation from time to time to make necessary arrangements to make the gas business systematic.
The Federation believes that the implementation of the provision of compulsory VAT bill or invoice in the sale and distribution of gas will be an important achievement towards making the transaction of the sector systematic and transparent.
Federation of Nepalese Gas Associations (FNCCI) President Gyaneshwar Aryal has urged all LPG entrepreneurs to fully comply with the directives of the Nepal Oil Corporation. He urged the entrepreneurs to implement the provision of providing invoices to consumers while selling gas.
Similarly, the federation has urged the general public to adopt the habit of asking for and receiving bills from the dealers while purchasing gas.
The FNCCI believes that the practice of collecting bills while buying and selling gas will help maintain transparency in the transaction and make the gas business more systematic.
