Kathmandu. The Independent Power Producers’ Association (IPPAN) has elected 6 members of the Uttam Vlon group unopposed.

Bhlon and Balram Khatiwada have formed a panel for the election.

In the election to be held on Friday, one deputy general secretary and 5 secretaries were elected unopposed from the panel of senior vice-president.

Kabita Pokharel was the only candidate from Vlon’s panel for the post of deputy general secretary.

No candidate from Khatiwada’s group has filed applications for the post of deputy general secretary in the election. Pokharel has been elected unopposed to the post of Deputy General Secretary from Vlon’s panel.

Likewise, Abhigya Malla, Esha Shrestha, Kuber Mani Nepal, Bijay Mohan Bhattarai and Suman Kumari Joshi have been elected unopposed to the secretary of the Bhlon Group.

Krishna Prasad Ghimire, Tara Bahadur Isbo Limbu, Birendra Bahadur Malla and Sangita Dhamala have been fielded from the Khatiwada panel for the post of secretary.

As per the IPPAN statute, only a person who has been a member of the working committee for one term can contest for office-bearers.

However, the election committee has not made any formal announcement.

Even though 6 candidates have been elected unopposed for the upcoming term, some advisors are still saying that they will unanimously appoint the office-bearers.
