Nawalparasi. At least six people were injured when a crane met with an accident along the Kaligandaki Corridor road section at Ranital of Gaindakot municipality-4 in Nawalparasi district today.

The crane (Lu 1 Ka 4437) en route to Gaindakot from Dhodeni collided with the wall on the left side of the road after brakes failed on the downhill road last night, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Yubaraj Khadka of District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

The injured are crane driver Niraj Asrami Magar, 25, of Tansen municipality, currently residing in Madhyabindu municipality-11, Dil Bahadur Kumal, 60, Nirmal Darai, 27, Purna Prasad Darai, 52, Arjun Bahadur Rai, 53, and Amar Rai, 50, of Madhyabindu-11.

The injured have been sent to Bharatpur-based New Medical College for treatment, police said. The crane was damaged and the vehicle involved in the accident is at the scene. Further investigation into the accident is underway, police said.
