David Marriott, Chairman of Marriott International visits Nepal

. David Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Marriott International, arrived in Nepal on June 7, 2026, a day before the hotel management agreement signing ceremony for JW Marriott Kathmandu Valley.

On his arrival in Nepal, he was warmly welcomed with Nepalese traditional hospitality, reflecting Nepalese culture of respect and goodwill towards the guests.TAG_OPEN_div_29 To make the occasion even more special, the children of Down Syndrome Society met and honored the contribution of employees working at Kathmandu Marriott with Down syndrome. It was not only a formal reception but also a symbolic presentation of Nepal’s commitment to inclusion, respect and social responsibility.

David Marriott has spent more than 25 years at Marriott International.TAG_OPEN_div_27 During this time, he has contributed to hotel operations, sales management and various regional level leadership roles. Currently, as Chairman of the Board, he leads a global network of more than 9,900 hotels and properties operating under more than 30 iconic brands spanning 146 countries and territories. He is the third board chairman in Marriott’s 98-year history. He continues the rich legacy of Marriott built by his father and grandfather.
