Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) have demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the disputes related to the Finance Bill.

In the meeting, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Barshaman Pun said there was no alternative to going ahead by accepting the weaknesses seen in the bill.

Stating that no manipulation was allowed in the bill already registered in the Parliament, he demanded the formation of a parliamentary mechanism to investigate the controversy related to it. He stressed that the sovereign parliament should not be disrespected.

According to him, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has openly admitted that he has changed the seven tax rates. “It’s an economic crime,” he said.

“We didn’t say ‘you have committed a crime’, we just inquired about it. But he threatened, “I did this, what are you going to do? He said. This is a contempt of Parliament. There should be a ruling from the Speaker and an investigation should be conducted on it,” he said, adding, “This type of crime cannot be committed.” There is a record of him openly accepting from this rostrum. ”

He recalled that the old ones did it, made 73 changes last year, and now I’ve done only seven. “Whether it’s 73 or one, a crime is a crime. Two years ago, I had brought the budget. I’m old, too. ”
