Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to establish, operate and manage special schools for children with disabilities and vulnerable disabilities including autism and Down syndrome and to promote intergenerational activities to ensure inclusive education for all.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has stated the policy and programme for the fiscal year 2083/084. “Programmes related to primary health care and nutrition will be conducted in schools and community study centres with health workers. Similarly, a day child care center would be established and operated,” the government’s policies and programmes read, adding that information technology would be used to the maximum extent to make school education research-oriented. Extra-curricular activities based on the curriculum will also be conducted in the school for the creative learning and development of the students. The Creative Friday program will mainly include creative learning, skill training and sports activities. ’

Likewise, KMC would implement school-school partnership programme for the exchange of good practices and experiences of schools, KMC would coordinate with the Government of Nepal to establish and operate a self-publishing university to produce expert human resources on language, culture, heritage, tourism and technical subjects.
