Minister Shrestha inquires about NEA’s supply of meter and transformer

Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has enquired about the stock and supply management of equipment including meters, transformers and other equipments directly connected to the consumers. Minister Shrestha had discussed the issue with the NEA management during a meeting of the Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

Minister Shrestha has expressed concern over the lack of complaints from consumers about the lack of easy access to necessary equipment such as meters and transformers. In the meeting, NEA management said that although some problems were seen in completing the procurement process, there is sufficient stock and more supply is in the process of being completed. The management has made it clear that there will be no shortage of such equipment for consumers now.

Minister Shrestha also suggested to put up a notice board to provide clear information to the general public about the various projects of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Minister Shrestha suggested that the notice board should include details such as total cost of the project, estimated period of construction, name of the construction company, name and contact number of the project chief and information officer.

Minister Shrestha said such notice boards would increase transparency in the projects and provide easy information to the public. The meeting also discussed the progress and challenges of other ongoing projects in the energy sector.
