Kathmandu. Switzerland has confirmed that preliminary talks on implementing a US-Iran deal aimed to end the war in the Middle East will take place on Friday at a Swiss resort complex in Bern.
The Swiss Foreign Ministry said in a statement that mediators Pakistan, Qatar and other relevant countries, along with the United States and Iran, will meet tomorrow in Bergenstock to hold “preliminary talks” on the implementation of the agreement. ”
The announcement lifted the veil of uncertainty surrounding the meeting, which was due to take place at a luxury hotel complex in Bergenstock, near Lucerne in central Switzerland. The meeting was initially scheduled to take place at the same venue on Tuesday.
The meeting was seen as part of the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on Feb. 28 to end a regional war that began with a US-Israel attack.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Massoud Pezeskian signed the electronic statue from Tehran at a dinner near Paris on Wednesday.
In Switzerland, Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Baghar Galibaf and U.S. Vice President JD Vance were expected to hold talks to work out the details of the deal.
