Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of the House of Representatives (HoR) have expressed concern over the public news regarding the issue of printing of electronic passports.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal gave time to Nepali Congress lawmaker Khadga Bahadur Budha to speak after all the lawmakers of the opposition parties stood from their respective seats in protest. Lawmaker Budha demanded the government to clarify about the public news about the issue of printing of e-passports. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khusbu Oli demanded the government’s response on the issue related to printing of e-passport.
Guru Prasad Baral of the CPN (UML) demanded that the process to elect the vice-chancellor be free from political influences and stressed that nobody should undermine the autonomy of the university.
Nepali Communist Party lawmaker Ganesh Bahadur Bishwakarma expressed his disagreement with the remarks made by Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Jestha 17 regarding the border between Nepal and India.
Harka Raj Rai, a lawmaker from the Labour and Culture Party, said that politicians need moral and accountability and complained that he has not been able to see the budget book of the Ministry of Defence. He also demanded the government to clarify about the public news that Nepali nationals have been held hostage in the name of networking in Patna, India.
