Punarbas 33/11 KV substation comes into operation in Kanchanpur

Kathmandu. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has completed the construction of a 33-11 kV 6/8 MVA Punarbas substation in Punarbas Municipality area of Kanchanpur. Around 18,000 consumers have been directly benefited after the operation of the substation.

According to NEA Acting Managing Director Dirgha Kumar Shrestha, the contract was scrapped after the contractor failed to complete the required electromechanical work except civil work.TAG_OPEN_div_22

Shrestha said that the directive has been issued to complete the construction of the substation at the earliest by making alternative arrangements after receiving widespread complaints from the local consumers due to the problem of low voltage and power supply in the area for long.TAG_OPEN_div_20

As per the directive, Belauri Distribution Center has expedited the construction and installation of the substation by using the necessary equipment including 6/8 MVA transformer at various offices of Nepal Electricity Authority.TAG_OPEN_div_18

This work has been completed at the initiative of Nepal Electricity Authority, Far-Western Provincial Office.TAG_OPEN_div_14 Now, around 18,000 customers of Belauri distribution center will be directly benefited from the substation. “This will significantly improve the quality of electricity supply and will also help manage the growing electricity demand in the future,” Shrestha said.

The NEA has expressed confidence that the power supply system of the rehabilitation area would become more stable, reliable and qualitative with the operation of the substation.TAG_OPEN_div_12
