India’s trade deficit crosses Rs 1.616 trillion by 15 per cent in mid-May

Kathmandu. In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2082/083, goods worth Rs 1,894.09 billion were imported. Compared to the last fiscal year 2081/082, the import has increased by 15.16 percent.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, imports amounted to Rs 1,644.79 billion. Similarly, exports have increased by 12.28 percent in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. Nepal exported goods worth Rs 277.77 billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. Nepal had exported goods worth Rs 247.57 billion in the same period of the last fiscal year.

According to the statistics made public by the Department of Customs, the total foreign trade in the last 11 months has increased by 14.78 percent. In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, foreign trade amounted to Rs 2.172 trillion. In the same period of the last fiscal year, the total foreign trade was worth Rs 1.892 trillion.

The foreign trade deficit has increased by 15.67 percent in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, the foreign trade deficit stood at Rs 1.616 trillion. In the same period of the last fiscal year, the foreign trade deficit was Rs. 1397.22 billion.
