Kathmandu. Raskot Municipality has presented a budget of Rs 566÷67,51,000 for the fiscal year 2083084. Deputy Mayor Maniraj Barlal presented the proposal in the 18th municipal assembly of the municipality on Sunday.
Out of the total budget presented by the municipality, Rs 97.6 million has been allocated for federal equalization grant, Rs 188.1 million for conditional grant and Rs 104.5 million for conditional grant.
“The federal special grant has been projected to be Rs 6.1 million, supplementary grant Rs 25.9 million and Rs 79.1 million as revenue allocation,” the deputy mayor said, adding that Raskot has allocated Rs 13.8 million for equalization grant, Rs 22.205 million for conditional grant and Rs 15.5 million for conditional grant. The government will get Rs 3.5 million as special grant and Rs 11.9 million as supplementary grant. The municipality is expected to generate Rs 1 million from the provincial revenue allocation.
The municipality has a target to collect 3.09 per cent of the total budget i.e. Rs 17.5 million from its internal sources (tax and non-tax revenue). Of the total expenditure, 61.42 per cent i.e. Rs 348.11 million has been allocated for current expenditure and 38.58 per cent i.e. Rs 218.65 million for capital expenditure.
Regionally, the municipality has allocated 64.88 per cent or Rs 367.77 million of the total budget, giving top priority to the social development sector. Rs 200 million has been allocated for the education sector and Rs 157.65 million for the health sector. Besides this, Rs 24.8 million has been allocated for economic development, Rs 65.50 million (10.68 per cent) for infrastructure development, Rs 12.8 million for good governance and inter-related sectors and Rs 2 million for forest and environment.
For office operation and administrative expenses 17. According to the municipality, 44 per cent i.e. Rs 98.846 million has been allocated. The Raskot Municipality of Kalikot held the municipal assembly with the long-term goal of ‘Prosperous Raskot, Happy Raskot Residents’ with the slogan ‘We Build, Our Town’.
