Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Jagadish Kharel has filed his candidacy for the post of open central member in the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
Kharel has around two and a half decades of experience in journalism and has been active in politics through the media sector.
Kharel, who had served as the Minister for Communications and Communications and Spokesperson of the government in the government formed after the Genji movement, had played a coordinating role in making the elections successful while in the government. Elected from Lalitpur-2, Kharel is known as an outspoken and studious person.
Kharel claimed that he took the decision to file his candidacy after most of the delegates who participated in the general convention urged him to come to the office. He said that it is a matter for the representatives to evaluate their capacity and role and the responsibilities of the past are clear to all.
“It is clear to all how I played a role in journalism and fulfilled my responsibility of holding elections when I was the communications minister,” Kharel said.
He also said that he has left no stone unturned to take the people’s voice to the government through the parliament. He said that he was moving ahead with the determination to fulfill the responsibility of the party in an effective manner.
Kharel’s candidacy has been seen as important at a time when the election of a new leadership in the general convention is being held for the representation of people with experience, capacity and ideological contribution in the party.
