Kathmandu. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Mediciti Hospital to provide subsidized health services to NCC office-bearers, employees, district chamber members and their direct dependents.
On behalf of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Mrigendra Mehar Shrestha, Health Committee Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Dr. Shrestha signed the agreement. Amit Tomar signed the agreement. As per the agreement, working committee members, employees, district chamber members and their direct dependents (husband÷wives, parents and two children below 22 years of age) will receive special health care and concessions while undergoing treatment at Nepal Medicity.
As per the agreement, Nepal Medicity will provide 10 percent discount on hospitalization and outpatient services. However, this exemption will not be applicable on medicines, consumables, implants, package services and external tests. The discount facility will not be applicable even if direct cashless service is provided through insurance.
As per the agreement, Nepal Medicity will conduct health awareness program twice a year for its members and staff, will impart basic life support training, will be a special health package and will organize blood donation program.
Both organizations have committed to designate a contact person for service delivery, coordination and information exchange and to maintain confidentiality of the information received. On the occasion, Chairman of NCC Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal expressed his confidence that with this collaboration, NCC members, their families and business community would be able to get better access to quality healthcare services. Regular health check-up, health awareness and preventive health care would contribute to building a healthy professional community, he added.
He expressed his confidence that the partnership between NCC and Medicity would further strengthen CSR and set an example for other organizations to emulate. He also said that health and economic development are complementary to each other and healthy human resources are the bases for economic prosperity.
On the occasion, Chairman of Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Dr. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mahato said that the collaboration agreement between Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Mediciti Hospital is not a new one, but a continuation of the existing relationship. Stating that this type of collaboration has further increased the responsibility towards the organization, he stressed that all stakeholders should make joint efforts for the development of the health sector.
