NEA conducts interaction program on insurance research and statistics

. KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has organized a discussion and interaction program on research and statistics related to insurance at the central office of NEA, Kupandole today.

The objective of the program is to ensure uniformity and quality in the daily, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual data received from the insurers, to inform about the changes made in data reporting in IRMIS, and to discuss the problems seen in data reporting and find ways to solve them.

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Sushil Dev Subedi said that data plays an important role in the study and research related to insurance, hence it is necessary to maintain accuracy, uniformity and credibility in the data.TAG_OPEN_div_22 Deputy Director of Insurance Authority Pushpa Kunwar said that the authority was ready to cooperate and facilitate in resolving the problems seen in the insurance statistics system.

In the program, Assistant Director of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Sundar Prasad Sharma presented the problems, challenges and opportunities seen in course of the study and research conducted by the Authority.TAG_OPEN_div_20

Assistant Director Sharma pointed out the need for timely availability of data for insurance research, uniformity in data, insurers should designate contact persons related to research, research should be prioritized and resources should be ensured for research.TAG_OPEN_div_18

Similarly, Basanta Prasad Bohara, statistician of Nepal Insurance Authority, presented about the data base and means to be collected by the insurers, the changes made in the data collection system and the expectation of the authority in the data submitted by the insurers.TAG_OPEN_div_16

The program was attended by the heads of the statistics, research and information technology sections of insurance companies, microinsurance companies and reinsurance companies.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The program was hosted by Kamala Gharti, Assistant First of Nepal Insurance Authority.
