Kathmandu. The Department has expedited searching, managing and digitizing thousands of cases and investigation files related to foreign employment fraud that have been pending at the Department for the past 25 years.

After the promulgation of the Foreign Employment Act in 2042 B.S., the scope of the Labor Department was expanded. The Department of Labour and Employment Promotion was established in 2056 BS. Since then, Nepali migrant workers had been registering complaints at the Department regarding their problems.

After the formation of the Department of Foreign Employment in 2064 BS, the works related to foreign employment started being carried out by the Department. Among them, case and investigation is an important area.

Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav has been directing the Department to remain active with regard to the increasing complaints of foreign employment fraud.

With the special concern of Minister Yadav and the leadership of Mira Acharya, the Department has expedited searching, collating and systematic records of the files of the cases and investigations that have been pending for long.

In the course of the management of the records, the Department It has also found important files related to cases and investigations from 2057 BS. Thousands of files that have been lying in dump for the past 25 years have been searched and physical records have been prepared on a yearly basis.

In addition, the process of preparing digital copies of the received files by scanning them is also progressing at a rapid pace. The Department is preparing to develop a digital tracking system to make the case and investigation process more effective in the coming days.

The Department is preparing to update the details of all the files available since 2057 BS in the digital system and link them to the justice delivery process. It is expected that this will provide fast, transparent and effective service to the victims of foreign employment fraud who have been waiting for justice for a long time.
