Kathmandu. Iran has rejected reports of further direct talks with the United States and said there will be no talks between the two countries at any level in the coming days, and the Iranian delegation will go to Doha to monitor the deal.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghhai said Tehran was “strictly prioritising” the technical implementation of the MoU rather than starting new political negotiations, Tasnim news agency reported.
Emphasizing Iran’s commitment to the implementation of the deal, Baghdai announced that an expert delegation from Iran will be sent to Doha, Qatar this week.
Confirming that the US has issued the necessary permits to facilitate the sale of Iranian oil under the agreement, Baghhai said that Iran is pursuing the practical implementation of these permissions by focusing on Article 11 of the agreement. It manages and controls Iran’s financial assets.
Bagh dismissed speculation that the US delegation’s visit to Qatar was “completely unrelated” to the assignment of the Iranian delegation.
Asked about the possible vitality of negotiations on the final agreement, Baghhai said the process had not yet begun and had not yet entered the negotiating stage for a final agreement, Tasnim news agency reported.
He stressed the need for the successful initiation and sustainable implementation of Articles 1, 4, 5, 10 and 11 in particular during formal negotiations for the final agreement under the agreement.
U.S. special envoy Steve Wittkopf made the remarks as he visited Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, just days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will hold high-level diplomatic talks with Iran on Tuesday.
CNN, citing two US officials, said Witkoff was currently travelling to the Qatari capital.
Meanwhile, Iran’s President Massoud Pezeskian said Iran would “make good on its commitment” if the US responded.
In a post on X on Monday, Pejescian said the mutual agreement was “a two-way guide” and that if the US side abides by the agreement, then they are committed to it.
