Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has padlocked 14 petrol pumps, including 8 in Kathmandu and 6 in Pokhara.
After the fall in the price of petroleum products, the fuel supply problem in the market was resolved and the pumps have come into operation.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has directed the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to immediately monitor the market after complaints were raised that various petrol pumps across the country were not distributing petroleum products to consumers and creating artificial shortage of petroleum products. Following the minister’s directive, the NOC team carried out an emergency inspection at various pumps in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
During the monitoring, the pump stopped the distribution saying that there was no oil. The NOC had padlocked these 14 pumps for the time being.
After the pump operators informed that there was no oil in their pumps, the corporation inspected it and found no oil in it. According to the Nepal Oil Corporation, there is no shortage of fuel in the market at present and all petrol pumps are selling petroleum products in the same condition as before.
