Landslides obstruct Bheri corridor

. CHITWAN — Three of the major highways obstructed in different parts of the country due to incessant rainfall since the past few days have come into operation while the Bheri corridor linking Jajarkot-Dolpa remains obstructed.

According to Nepal Police Central Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abinarayan Kafle, the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section at Panini rural municipality-2 of Arghakhanchi, the Siddhartha Highway at Dumre area of Tansen municipality-8 of Palpa and the Muglin-Narayangadh road section of Ichhakamana rural municipality-6, which was obstructed due to landslide on June 2, have been reopened TAG_OPEN_div_11 ।

Similarly, the Bheri Corridor linking Jajarkot to Dolpa at Rijegad River in Aathbiskot Municipality-6 of Rukum West has been completely disrupted so far.TAG_OPEN_div_9 Efforts are underway to open the road, police said.

The KMC has urged one and all to adopt special alertness while travelling on the landslide-affected and operational road sections, regularly take information about the weather and follow the directions of the local administration and security bodies as the occurrence of landslides and road disruptions has become risky with the monsoon becoming active.TAG_OPEN_div_7
