Two NARC employees sacked

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Two employees of the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) under the Department of Agriculture, Forest and Environment have been relieved of their duties.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Gita Chaudhary, who is also the chairperson of NARC, has sacked two employees who have been absent from the office for long.

Stating that the government has prioritized good governance and people-oriented service delivery, Minister Chaudhary said necessary action has been taken against the employees not fulfilling their responsibilities in the offices concerned by occupying only the quota.

Parbati Joshi, sixth technical officer of the Agriculture Research Directorate, Taraha, Sunsari and scientist S-1 Namita Bhattarai of the National Biotechnology Research Centre, Khumaltar, Lalitpur.

They have been removed from service as per the Employees Administration Bye-laws, 2062 BS with effect from the date of their absence. Minister Chaudhary said that the Council had sent letters to the employees concerned at their home addresses and published a notice in the national daily urging them to come into contact within seven days.
