Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Mohan Bahadur Basnet has been acquitted of corruption in the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) procurement case.
A division bench of Justices Hemanta Rawal, Dilli Ratna Shrestha and Umesh Koirala gave the verdict today after concluding the verdict.
Basnet has been acquitted in the corruption case related to the purchase of Teramax.
In the same case, 3 people including former chairman of the NRA, Digambar Jha, have been found guilty.
The Supreme Court has acquitted former minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet of all charges.
Along with Basnet, 19 defendants including former chairman Purushottam Khanal, Achyutananda Mishra, Surendra Lal Hada and Rewati Ram Pantha were also acquitted of the case. Similarly, consultancy company ‘Vanrise Solutions’ has also been cleared.
