Kathmandu. The budget for the fiscal year 2083÷84 presented by the Sudurpaschim Province government on June 15 has been tabled in the Provincial Assembly. Minister for Economic Affairs of the province Bikram Singh Dhami tabled the budget in today’s meeting.
As soon as Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari allocated time to the meeting, Minister for Economic Affairs Dhami tabled the ‘Finance Bill Designed to Implement the Finance Proposal’ and the Bill Designed to Provide for the Appropriation and Expenditure of Money from the State Consolidated Fund.
On the occasion, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hira Sarki tabled the Auditor General’s eighth annual report, 2083 BS and seventh annual reports of Tharu Commission, Muslim Commission and Madhesi Commission.
After presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083÷84 on June 15, the remaining process will move forward after the budget was tabled in today’s meeting. The provincial government has allocated Rs 37.70 billion for the coming fiscal year.
Of the total sources of the budget, Rs 1.72 billion is from inland revenue mobilization and Rs 10.24 billion is estimated to be received from the government of Nepal.
Likewise, Rs 70 million will be received as allocation of federal royalty, Rs 9.06 billion will be received from the Government of Nepal, Rs 9.65 billion will be saved from the appropriation for the fiscal year 2082÷83, Rs 6.03 billion will be received from conditional grants, Rs 388 million will be received from federal supplementary grants and Rs 527.6 million will be received from special grants.
After the presentation of the budget, the remaining process has moved forward after 22 days due to differences among the ruling parties. The next meeting will discuss the budget.
Speaker Bhandari informed the House that the next meeting of the Province Assembly has been adjourned until the notice is issued.
