Kathmandu. Pakistan expressed deep concern over the re-escalation of tensions in the Middle East despite phased talks and called on all parties to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
In a statement, Pakistan said the new conflict between the US and Iran “is not in anyone’s interest” and called on all parties to refrain from such acts that could further undermine regional peace and stability.
“There is no alternative to continued engagement, dialogue and diplomacy to achieve common goals of peace in the region,” the statement said.
The Foreign Office urged all parties to maintain their respective commitments in accordance with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), describing the MoU as a permanent basis for mutual common prosperity for the region.
