Kathmandu Metropolitan City to provide employment to Ganesh Nepali’s families

. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Ganesh Nepali, who died in course of treatment after attempting self-immolation in front of the Department of Passport.

Issuing a press release, the spokesperson of the metropolis, Nabin Manandhar, said that the metropolis family was shocked by the incident.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The Nepalis from Mugu district who are currently living in Bhaktapur had attempted self-immolation in front of the Passport Department in Tripureshwor on July 10. Nepali died while undergoing treatment this afternoon. The KMC has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on his demise.

Spokesperson Manandhar said that he has been informed that the government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs have formed a probe committee to investigate the incident and the KMC would fully cooperate with the committee.TAG_OPEN_div_12 The metropolis has also made it clear that it would take necessary corrective and responsible steps based on the suggestions received from the investigation.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (TAG_OPEN_div_10 KMC) has pledged to provide humanitarian assistance to the families of those who have self-immolated. Spokesperson Manandhar said that the next meeting of the executive would take a decision to provide employment opportunities to the family members of the Nepalis and free education to their children.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (TAG_OPEN_div_8 KMC) has stated that it is ready to identify measures to address such incidents in coordination and collaboration with the Government of Nepal and develop good practices and implement them.
