. Rajuman Dangol has been elected the chairman of Thamel Tourism Development Council.

In the election held today, Dangol defeated Prashya Rajbhandari, according to election officer Hari Prasad Pangeni.TAG_OPEN_div_27 Dangol got 728 votes while his nearest rival Raj Bhandari got 365 votes.

Likewise, Rajib Pandey has been elected the first vice-president, Dawang Tamang the second vice-president and Ramesh Thapa the third vice-president.TAG_OPEN_div_25

Pashupati Kandel won the post of General Secretary with 720 votes.TAG_OPEN_div_23 His closest contender was NC’s nearest contender Punyaram Lageju who got 333 votes.

Dilip Kandel has been elected secretary of the working committee and Kinchu Lamu Bhutia (Shrestha) has been elected treasurer.TAG_OPEN_div_21

Likewise, Surendra Dangol, Bal Krishna Khanal, Sanu Kaji Maharjan, Roshan Pradhan, Bishwaman Pradhan, Lisa Manandhar, Krishna Bahadur Sedhai and Chandra Tamang have been elected as executive members.TAG_OPEN_div_19

Out of a total of 1,309 voters in the election held for the next TAG_OPEN_div_17 two years, 1,225 votes were cast in the election. Talking to media persons after the election, newly-elected president Dangol said his focus would be on building Thamel in a safe and orderly manner.
