Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Sushil Panta, a highly educated and social campaigner, has announced his candidacy for the post of General Secretary of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA). The slogan ‘Experience, Commitment, Unity: Strong Future of Nepalese Tourism’ is ‘Experience, Commitment, Unity’.
Panta, who is in the election fray, is one of the most prominent intellectuals in the tourism sector of Nepal. During his academic journey, he has completed his Masters in Public Administration and has visited more than 40 countries of the world, from the poorest to the affluent, in his studies and cultural exploration.
This global experience has given him a deep knowledge of international tourism markets and strategy.
Pant is the founder and CEO of Gorkha International Travels and Adventure Gorkhaland Trek, which has been continuously working for the promotion of tourism sector of Nepal for more than two decades. He not only made a huge contribution to the business but also to building the future of the new generation in the tourism sector. So far, hundreds of youths have completed internships under his direct supervision. These skilled manpower who have done internships with him are now engaged in prestigious jobs in various districts of Nepal as well as in many developed countries of the world.
Pant is considered to be a special expert on how to make foreign tourists stay in Nepal for many days and how to attract more tourists through ‘Mouth Marketing Reference’ by providing excellent service to them. He has played a significant role in Nepal’s tourism promotion and national economy by attracting tourists from affluent Asian countries like Japan and Korea, Europe, America, and Arab countries in large numbers. He has been giving special emphasis on attracting foreign tourists and creating domestic employment in the country.
Pant has proudly represented Nepal in prestigious international travel fairs and travel marts in Asia, Europe, Australia, Middle East and North America. Prakhar Panta has been active in social transformation and volunteerism in Nepal since 2009.
Panta, who strongly believes that the collective development of every tourism entrepreneur is possible only when Nepal’s tourism sector flourishes, has made public his 7-
point commitments to make NATTA more transparent, communication-friendly, and technology-friendly.

International Promotion and Foreign Tourism: To attract a large number of foreign tourists from Asian and Western countries through Global Strategic Partnership. Transparent and Efficient Administration: To bring about comprehensive reforms in the communication system, institutional transparency and administrative functioning of NATTA.
Digital Transformation: Promote the use of new technology, AI, and digital marketing in the tourism sector, modifying the traditional system.
Legal and Policy Advocacy: Use your legal background to advocate strongly with the government at the policy level to protect the rights of tourism entrepreneurs.
6. Youth Leadership and Employment Generation: To attract new generation in the tourism industry and develop the capacity of young professionals and create employment opportunities in the country.
7. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work together with government and private sector stakeholders to prolong tourists’ stay, improve Nepal’s tourism image and increase the number of foreign tourists.
Pant appealed to all NATTA members to vote believing in his high educational qualifications, legal knowledge, expertise in attracting foreign tourists, experience in more than 40 countries and a clear vision for institutional transformation. His strong candidacy has added new enthusiasm to the tourism entrepreneurs as a whole.
