Bagmati Province to return money to savers of five cooperatives affected by Civil, Sumeru and Laligurans

. Bagmati Province, Office of Troubled Cooperative Management Committee is returning the savings of small savers of five problematic savings and credit cooperatives from today.

Committee member Rameshwor Dhakal said that the government has decided to refund the savings up to one lakh rupees of small savers of Civil Savings and Credit Cooperative, Darshan Savings and Credit Cooperative, Sumeru Savings and Credit Cooperative, National Namobuddha Savings and Credit Cooperative, and Laligurans Savings and Credit Cooperative.TAG_OPEN_div_19

Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, launched the cash back at a programme organized at the meeting hall of Province Good Governance Centre at Jawalakhel in Lalitpur today.TAG_OPEN_div_17 A few days ago, a meeting held in the presence of Chief Minister Baniya had decided to return the savings of small savers of these cooperatives.

Committee member Dhakal told RSS that preparations are underway to return the amount to small savers by mid-July.TAG_OPEN_div_15 The committee has completed the work of ‘verifying’ the details of the savers.

About TAG_OPEN_div_13 nine crore rupees have been deposited to return the money to the savers. The committee has planned to return up to Rs 100,000 to the savers of Civil, Sumeru, Laligurans and Namobuddha Cooperatives and up to Rs 10,000 to the savers of Darshan Cooperative. With this, around three thousand small savers of five cooperatives will get their money back, committee member Dhakal said.

The committee had on June 5 made public the names of 114 big borrowers of the cooperatives and urged them to immediately repay the loans taken from the cooperatives.TAG_OPEN_div_11
