Kanti Highway temporarily closed

. Vehicular movement along the Kanti Highway has been temporarily halted due to incessant rainfall and monsoon-induced risks.

According to the District Administration Office, Lalitpur, the operation of public, private and passenger vehicles on the Makwanpur-Sindhuli route via Kanti Highway will remain closed from 5:00 am today to 6:00 am today.TAG_OPEN_div_10 Assistant Chief District Officer Suprabha Dhungel Khanal said the decision was taken considering the safety of passengers and vehicles as most of the roads along the Kanti Highway are extremely risky.

The District Administration Office has urged the general public, transport entrepreneurs and the concerned bodies to adopt high alertness to minimize the loss of life and property in the wake of disasters.TAG_OPEN_div_8 It has also requested people not to travel except for essential purposes and to follow the official information on weather and road condition regularly.

The district administration has urged the people to immediately inform the District Emergency Operation Centre, Lalitpur, free number 1234, the concerned local level, people’s representatives, the nearest security agency or the local administration in case of any disaster-related incident or emergency.TAG_OPEN_div_6
