Nine people of Darchula receive free cataract surgery with the help of Shangri-La Development Bank

Kathmandu. Darchula: Nine people of Darchula district have undergone cataract surgery free of cost under the financial support and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of Shangrila Development Bank.

In a free eye camp organized at District Hospital Darchula and Duhu Rural Municipality on May 12 and 13 in collaboration with the bank, 11 people were identified as needing cataract surgery.

They were taken to Geta Eye Hospital, Dadeldhura where the surgery of the remaining nine was successfully carried out after two of them could not be operated due to health condition.

Earlier, more than 700 people were provided free eye check-up through two eye camps. In addition, 487 people were given spectacles and 600 people were given essential medicines.

The bank has been providing its services through 109 branches and 30 ATMs across the country. The bank has pledged to further expand its services in the coming days by effectively implementing corporate governance, risk management and internal control systems.
