Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. The secretariat of Swarnim Wagle has urged investors to be aware of the rumors and misleading publicity spread in the share market.
The minister’s secretariat has claimed that the government is working in a planned manner for the reform of the stock market.
It has been claimed that the government is aware of the dissatisfaction and anger among the investors due to the fall in the share market since the formation of the government.
Although it is natural for investors to be worried about the fall in the price of property and the rumors that the market will fall further, the Secretariat claims that the publicity has been made against the facts.
According to the Secretariat, arrangements have been made for exemption from income tax for taxpayers with regular income, thousands of taxpayers involved in revenue disputes have been given the opportunity to resume their business through historic exemption facility and economic reform programs have been initiated through a stable government, expert finance minister and regulatory bodies under transparent and honest leadership.
The Secretariat has said that the regulatory bodies have been working in a planned manner for the reform of the stock market and investigations have been carried out on the groups involved in irregularities and manipulation in the market. It has claimed that some individuals tried to influence regulators to create a situation similar to the Harshad Mehta case in India in the past.
However, the government has claimed that it is trying to create an abnormal situation by spreading factual information and rumours about the market. According to the Secretariat, some groups have been spreading misleading propaganda for their vested interests, taking advantage of the government’s working style of speaking less and working more.
The Secretariat has urged the investors not to be swayed by such information, saying rumors being spread by such names such as ‘so-and-so is being arrested’ and ‘so-and-so is being investigated’. It has made it clear that the government will work only on the basis of legal process and evidence, urging all not to run after rumours being spread with the intention of creating fear.
Similarly, the Secretariat has emphasized that the official information related to the share market should be obtained only from the concerned government agency and not from Clubhouse, WhatsApp or Messenger groups or unauthorized persons. It also warned that the spread of information on social media and informal media could mislead investors and that some groups might seek to gain personal advantage.
