Kathmandu. Golanjor Rural Municipality of Sindhuli has started its services from a new administrative building with the new fiscal year 2083/84. The newly constructed building with 38 rooms including parking at Gwaltar of Ward No. 3 of the rural municipality has been constructed at a cost of Rs 61.11 million.
Khem Bahadur Karki, a local, has provided one ropani and six ana of land worth around Rs one crore for the construction of the building. Chairperson of the rural municipality, Shankar Raj Baral, said that service delivery to the people would be easy and easy with the construction of modern building.
He informed that a lot of efforts have been made for the construction of the building which was started in 2080 BS with the grant assistance of the federal government. The rural municipality has started providing service from its own building after nine years of its establishment. Earlier, the municipality was running from a narrow rented house in the absence of its own building.
Vice-chairperson of the municipality, Jwala Prasad Neupane, said that the problem of service seekers was inconvenienced due to the operation of the municipality from a rented building. He said, “All the services provided by the local government to the citizens will be easily available from the newly constructed building.” The rural municipality has forwarded a plan with name and map to pave the road leading to the new administrative building as it is unpaved.
The office buildings of ward no 1, 4 and 7 of the municipality have also been constructed. The rural municipality has also constructed new buildings of various offices including a health centre.
The government has announced Golanjor Rural Municipality as ‘Junar Super Zone’ and has been implementing several programmes in this regard. The rural municipality has expanded access to road, electricity and drinking water in all its wards and villages and has now started its up-gradation and blacktopping programmes.
