Lalitpur. Pokhara University in collaboration with Shramik Shanti Campus, Techpaila Innovations and OneCover organized a special workshop on AI and Sovereign AI in Cybersecurity.

On the auspicious occasion of the establishment day of Pokhara University, Shramik Shanti Campus organized a high-level workshop on “AI and Social Impact in Cybersecurity” for its students. The event concluded in collaboration with TechPilot Innovations and Cyber Security Partner One Cover Private Limited highlighting the growing interconnectedness of artificial intelligence, digital security and national development.

Program Coordinator of Shramik Shanti Campus Phool Babu Jha was present on the occasion. He began the session by emphasizing that the campus is always committed to bringing industry-relevant knowledge into the classroom.

On the occasion, Pokhara University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean and former Registrar Ajay Kumar Thapa shed light on the establishment and history of Pokhara University and its guiding values. Discussing the social impact of higher education, Dean Thapa explained how educational institutions create long-term value in nation building by producing skilled manpower that can adapt to global technological changes.

In the program, Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation and Associate Director of Techpaila Innovations, talked about the important concept of sovereign AI.

He stressed on the need for countries like Nepal to develop and control their own artificial intelligence framework, data infrastructure, and digital capabilities instead of relying solely on foreign platforms.

Live Technical Demo & Industry Collaboration

Moving from policy debates to technical exercises, ethical hackers Swagat Aryal and Pralin Baramu wowed the students with a live phishing demo. They demonstrated modern social engineering attack methods and how AI is being used to create and counter cyber threats. An interactive technical quiz competition was also held at the end of the technical session to test and encourage students’ knowledge.
