Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged the people to take precaution as there is a risk of flash flood in the rivers and streams flowing through different parts of the country.

The Department has warned that small rivers will increase the risk of floods in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Ilam, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Dhading, Makawanpur, Chitwan, Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Gulmi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Nawalparasi (east and west), Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the water level in Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali rivers and their tributaries, as well as Kankai, Kamala, Babai, East Rapti and West Rapti rivers, is below the danger line.
